Who is responsible
frontier.family is run by Aaron Teng in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. For the purposes of the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) and similar laws where our members live, he is the person responsible for your details.
What we collect
Only what you type into the application form: your name, email, city, the kind of seat you would take, your company or project, your role, the front you work on, a note about what you are building, backing or deciding, one link if you give one, and who sent you. If you become a member, the concierge also keeps notes from rooms about what you said you are looking for, so that introductions can be made well.
We also record the time you applied and the network address the form came from. That is used only to stop abuse of the form.
Why we keep it
- To decide, by hand, whether to offer you a seat, and in which room.
- To seat rooms on purpose: the right builders next to the right operators and institutions.
- To ask you, privately, whether you would like an introduction when the concierge thinks two members should meet.
- To write to you about rooms you have accepted, and occasionally the family letter. You can stop those at any time by replying "stop".
Who sees it
The host of your city and the concierge. Nobody else, unless you say yes.
- Guest companies that host a room never receive the member list, your contact details, or your application. After a room they receive a written account of what the ten people said they needed, with names only where each person agreed.
- Other members receive your details only after you have said yes to a specific introduction.
- We do not sell, rent, trade or share details with advertisers or data brokers. There is no member directory to scrape.
To run the site we use a small number of services that process data on our behalf: Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery) and, for the founder’s own notifications, Telegram. Each sees only what it needs to deliver a message.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no cookies and runs no advertising trackers. If usage analytics are enabled they are aggregate and cookieless. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google sees the request for the font file.
How long
If we do not offer you a seat, your application is deleted within twelve months of the decision. If you become a member, we keep your details for as long as you are one, plus twelve months. Room notes about you are deleted when you leave.
Your rights
You may ask to see everything we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You may withdraw the consent you gave on the form at any time. Write to hello@frontier.family from the address you applied with; a person will reply within fourteen days. If you are in a jurisdiction with a data-protection authority, you also have the right to complain to it.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, members will be told by email before it takes effect. The date at the top is the date of the last change.
